Photography is a passion I am a photographer first and foremost, and I also host and design websites. I hope you enjoy my images and find them inspiring.
If you are looking for a photographer, please contact me. I was born and raised in Alberton, Gauteng, but I now spend most of my time in the Overberg and Garden Route regions of the Western Cape. I have lived in many small towns and big cities across South Africa, and I have photographed many moments along the way. My love for photography began when I worked for the marketing research company AC Nielsen. As part of my job, I traveled extensively from shop to shop, where I encountered all sorts of people and places.
I was fascinated by what I saw, and I began to capture these images in my mind's eye. When I was younger, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I fell into the computer industry and worked as a programmer and web host. I am still active in this field, but my passion is now photography. My love for photography was born at a family wedding in the small town of Patensy in the Eastern Cape in 1974. I was just eight years old, and my father, who was the appointed photographer for the day, handed me his camera.
He poured himself a whisky and settled back in a chair to become a guest, while I shot the rest of the day. When the photos were developed, my father said they were "nie half sleg nie" - not half bad at all. That's when my love for photography was born. I have always wanted to be a professional photographer, and for the past few years, I have been able to realize my dream. I am now able to use my skills to bring images to life for others.
